At this level the learner can introduce themselves and others, answer questions about personal details - e.g. where they live, where they come from; he/she can communicate in a basic way if the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is disposed to help.

the alphabet (printing types and script); greeting and saying goodbye; getting to know and introducing each other; countries and nationalities; jobs; family and friends; numbers; food and drinks; restaurant; language skills and language learning

Linguistic Goals:
to read and write Cyrillic letters; to greet and say goodbye; to get to know and introduce each other; to apologize; to ask and give information about origin / nationality / place of living / address / job; to ask how somebody feels; to talk about family and friends; to give information about quantity, prices and age; to order in a restaurant; to talk about language skills and learning languages

Structural Goals:
pronunciation and stress; orthography; intonation: statements and questions; sentence construction: statements and questions, position of the adverb and negation; indeclinable, animate and inanimate nouns; declension of nouns – to build sentences with objects and adverbials; present tense of the copulative verb byt’ and the full verbs – to build statements and questions in the present; personal pronouns – to refer to people and objects; possessive pronouns – to indicate possession; interrogative pronouns – to ask questions; adjectives – to describe people and objects; cardinal numbers – to indicate quantity, price and age

written and oral mid term test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension) and final test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension and speaking/dialogues)
