Students can compare and analyse national and international politics on childhood and education with special emphasis on new diversity and reflection on the living and educational conditions of children and parents.

Beyond the Diversity of modern environments there are varied conditions of growing-up, which are marked by different conditions and therefore require specific analysis and reflection.

Significant examples are childhood under the conditions of physical and mental impairment, poverty, migration, or the commercialization of children. This seminar addresses the varied problems of childhood under specific conditions and it discusses the concepts of a “normal” childhood that turns some childhoods into “special childhoods”.
