winter semester 2014/2015 | Last update: 05.11.2014 | Place course on memo listThe students are supposed to interpret texts of German literature, taking into account (inter) cultural, theoretical, social and historical contexts.
Instead he became just 23 years Büchner created an important literary work. "Dantons Tod" is devoted to a central event of European history, "Leonce und Lena" operates under the guise of a harmless comedy biting social criticism, and the unfinished "Woyzeck" is the prototype of the modern, open drama. In addition, there are political and scientific writings, as well as the influential novella "Lenz". The seminar is devoted to the entire spectrum of this broad oeuvre.
Knowledge of 'Der Hessische Landbote' is provided at the beginning of the event and reviewed as appropriate.

Prerequisite for Master's programme German studies: positive completion of elective module 2; for Teaching degree programme German: positive completion of 1st part of studies 'Neuere deutsche Literaturwissenschaft'.
