Developing skills in writing and assessing/grading texts

Contents:

The course is concerned with teaching the different text types as required by the respective curriculum of the "AHS", "BHS" and "BMS". This includes , for example, creative writing, narrating, academic writing and argumentative writing as well as all the text types used in the standardised final exam. Moreover students get to know a variety of assessment criteria and rating scales. They will also develop and apply their own criteria and scales. Using texts written by pupils, students can practise how to assess and grade these texts as well as how to give feedback.

Lectures, pair work, group work,

presentations, discussions

Assessment:

Performance in class, showing interest, class attendance, documentation of your own writing and assessment, preparing and teaching one lesson or some part of it, creating teaching materials.

recommended for Teacher Training Programme German, 5./6. semester -prerequisites: completed 1st diploma examination
