Students will have a general understanding of Italian society with respect to geo-economic identity, the social and political institutions, and the production and employment structures of the country.

Origin and development of the Italian identity. Basic social structures: family, school, and labor institutions. Fundamental economic structures. Problems in social and economic development.

Lectures, including audiovisual and multimedia techniques.

Written examination on the contents of the course.
