The students know contemporary and past forms of representation of gender and ethnicities in various symbolic cultures. They are aware of the interrelations between different forms of representation of gender and ethnicity and the (re)construction of other social realities. They are able to recognize and analyze gender aspects in the humanities, especially in the media.

Selected aspects of gender studies within humanities and social sciences with a special focus on migration societies.

Introductory classes in which the different approaches are specified (historical, sociological, educational), conference, final class.
