Students gain insight into the most important concepts and practice fields of Psychodynamic Counselling. The course also aims to recapitulate important psychoanalytical concepts.

The method of Psychodynamic Counselling derived from Psychoanalysis and deals with uncoucious motives within the emergence of different social and psychic problems. Fields of action discussed in the seminar compass (amongst other things) relationship counselling, counselling of organiztations, counselling of persons with antisocial personality disorders, crisis intervention and counselling of elderly persons.

Reading and discussing Texts, roleplays; the seminar is also supported by the use of audiovisual media.

Course with formative assessment, i.e., students are graded on the basis of written and/or oral tasks assigned regularly over the term. Students must write text summaries, give short presentations and participate in the discussions.
