Goal: A1

At this level the learner can understand everyday expressions and simple sentences aimed at the satisfaction of simple needs of a concrete type; he/she can introduce himslef/herself and others and ask questions about personal details - e.g. where they live, whom they know and what things they own - and can answer questions of this kind; he/she can communicate in a simple way if the other person speaks slowly and carefully and is sympathetic.

Topics:

getting to know each other; in a bar; in a French course; in a café; work and job; leisure activities and preferences; on a market; everyday life
Linguistic Goals:

to greet and say goodbye; to ask how somebody is; to introduce yourself and others (name, age, nationality); to give personal information on your place of living, family, education/job and leisure; to something; to express a preference/dislike; to ask for the way and indicate the way; to describe everyday life; to give reasons for something; to ask for repetition and ensure comprehension; polite forms; to orient yourself in a town; to indicate/understand indications of time

Structural Goals:

the present tense indicative conjugation - to express actions of the immediate present; subject pronouns; stressed personal pronouns - to talk about what somebody is; definite/indefinite and compound articles; possessive articles - to indicate possession; nouns (gender and forms of the plural); adjectives and the declination of adjectives - to describe a person or object in some detail; prepositions of place and time - to find your way; statements; negative sentences and questions; numbers; declination and position of adjectives - to describe a person or an object in some detail; prepositions of place - to orient yourself in a place; imperative - to express commands/advice/instructions

interactive language instruction
written and oral midterm test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension) and final test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension and speaking/dialogues)
