Learning Outcome:

Basic knowledge of the discussions whether God, his existence and his attributes are an object of philosophical reflection, i.e. of the most prominent philosophical pro/contra-arguments. Knowledge of similarities and differences between religious and other (e.g., scientific) explanations.

Contents:

Religion - the peculiarity of natural theology - historical overview - forma of argumentation - classical philosophical theology - contemporary arguments - faith and science - religious criticism - philosophical talk about God.

Methods:

Lecture with discussion and essay papers.

Assessment:

Essay papers and written exam.
