Basic knowledge of philosophical issues in the cognitive sciences; ability to critically review naturalistic arguments.

Philosophical issues in the cognitive sciences, the controversy about naturalism: neural correlates of consciousness, brain death, embodied consciousness, theory of mind etc.

 

Lecture and discussion, text reading.

Oral exam.

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

For Bachelor's Programme in Philosophy at the Faculty of Catholic Theology (C 033 194): positive completion of compulsory modules 2 and 3.
For Bachelor's Programme in Catholic Religious Education (C 033 193): positive completion of compulsory module 1.

For Diploma Programme in Catholic Theology: positive completion of compulsory module 1 (first part of studies).
