222010 Fundamental Theology II: Revelation in Jesus Christ and in the Church
summer semester 2015 | Last update: 02.03.2015 | Place course on memo listDifferent notions of revelation, especially the Constitutions "Dei Filius" (Vatican I) and "Dei Verbum" (Vatican II). Critique of revelation and answers to this criticism; Jesus as exegete of God in the context of critical historical research on Jesus, theology of the death and resurrection of Christ. Origins of the Church as the New Testament church (canon question). Development and definition of the competence of the Bishop of Rome. Ratio "Church and the world, and church in the world today."
In the first part of the lecture the various concepts of revelation are explained (language, models, criticisms; Vatican II and I) and connected with the historical question on Jesus. The second part of the lecture displays the topic church in its basic anthropological structures and as location of theological epistemology.
