BA § 5 (1) 5.b European Integration - Introduction

Following Werner Patzelt, one can generate knowledge about a complete political system when analyzing the parliament of this system. Students acquire basic knowledge of the history, process, actors and political fields of European Integration. They get to know the different level of the EU multi-level system, including their parliaments and the consequences of EU integration. Students thereby deal with questions of legitimacy and democracy of the EU multi-level system.

Phases of Input alternate with output oriented, participative phases.

Requirements: regular attendance (max. 2 times aabsence), reading the assigned texts, active participation, short talk (if indicated in a group) and written work with 30.000-35.000 characters, deadline 15.07.2015, read, think, enjoy, learn and look things up if necessary.
