BA Politikwissenschaft § 5 (1) 8.b Internationale Beziehungen - Einführung

Die Studierenden verstehen die Grundlagen und Zusammenhänge internationaler Beziehungen und nationaler Außenpolitik und sind in der Lage diese unter Anleitung zu analysieren. Die Studierenden kennen die wesentlichen Elemente des klassischen und modernen Völkerrechts und sind in der Lage diese zu reproduzieren. Sie sind zudem in der Lage die zentralen historischen Entwicklungen im Staatensystem des 20. und des 21. Jahrhunderts darzulegen.

The aim of this Proseminar is twofold: (1) The Proseminar focuses on reading and discussing key texts in International Relations (IR) and by doing so, giving students an overview how to phrase central questions and theses, and how to use theories and methods in their research projects.

(2) Students get an introductory overview in key topics and concepts in IR, such as "levels of analysis", "anarchy", realism, "balance of power", cooperation, domestic preferences and foreign policy.
