Learning Outcome:

The students learn to apply social-scientific methods to concrete research examples and case studies. The introductory seminar course (PS) “Applied Methods of Social Sciences”, in combination with the lecture on the same topic, trains the students in applying empirical methods. The students are given a concrete case and handle all phases of the research process independently: formulating the research question, carrying out a survey and analysing the data, drawing up a research report (Curriculum, §5).
