The students are able to recognize and describe the historical, political, and cultural conditions that underlie the construction of differential and dominant relationships in the migration society. The students can also work on specific questions from a perspective in migration pedagogics.

In this course the key terms that shape and structure the educational processes of migrants in the migration society are described and then discussed for their relevance in regard to pedagogical practices. The concepts (“immigrant pedagogy”, “intercultural pedagogy”, “reflexive intercultural pedagogy”, etc.) are critically examined and questioned in light of their meaning in educational policy making as well as in educational science.
