Relations of literature in other arts; theoretical and methodological reflection of different expressions of discursive phenomena. A special topic in the field of Intermediality is treated as an example.
A long time the highest peak of the Alps seemed to be so unapproachable that apparently no one tried to climb them. However, Francesco Petrarca climbed the Mont Ventoux (Provence) in the 14th century. The innovative aspect of Petrarch's trip was that it was made without a fixed purpose, and out of sheer curiosity. He saw the world of the mountains no more as merely hostile and destructive to humans. However, his experience was (and is) a mediatized experience, insofar as it was becoming manifest only in and through the medium text. Insofar Petrarca can be count as the founder of a fascinating history of the mountains, which is always a mediated story, constituted largely through texts and pictures.
