You will get the opportunity to improve the basic translation skills you achieved in ÜI.

You will translate authentic source texts and will get the opportunity to improve your textual and cultural competence. Furthermore, you will learn new translation strategies – everything with the aim to produce functional translations.

You will have to prepare translation assignments individually and within the specified time. These assignments will serve as a basis for interactive lessons (discussions! questions! active participation! ideas!).

Written (two written exams, one homework assignment). Exam dates to be announced in the first class.

You will receive all information about relevant literature as well as worksheets, source texts, etc. (files, copies or master copies - any copy costs will be collected at the end of the semester) in class.

To participate in this course, it is necessary that you have already passed the translation course French > German level ÜI. Please don't forget to bring along a confirmation of your successful participation in this pre-requisite course in our first lesson.

Attendance of the first lesson is a pre-requisite.
