The students should win an overview of the history of religion, culture, administration and military in Roman Austria.

The lecture will offer an overview of the history of Roman Austria. First, the relations of Rome towards the celtic populations and tribes before Roman occupation will be discussed. Another important theme will be the history of the Roman provinces of Noricum, Raetia and Pannonia. The lecture deals also with the topic of Romanization and several things, which belonged to the history of Roman Provinces.
