Competence to structure short- and long-term processes and sequences of events; competence to reflective analysis of generation of historical knowledge with consideration of problem- and method-oriented questions about the Ancient World.

The lecture addresses pivotal archaeological results and issues for the research of the development of the material culture of Georgia in the 2nd and 1st millennium BCE. The archaeological evidence is taken as a basis to discuss major social transformation processes.

The thematically structured teaching material will be illustrated by the teacher and deepened by means of exercises and discussions.

Written exam at the end of the semester and active participation in the discussion.
