summer semester 2015 | Last update: 19.03.2015 | Place course on memo listWith the successful completion of the seminar, students firstly will be able to recognize the major literary genres (poetry, narrative, drama) in their specifics and describe them. Secondly students will achieve an immerged insight in the main currents of literary theory in the field of text analysis. Finally, they will train themselves in the methods of literary text analysis by repeated practical application and will be familiar with the established tropes.
The seminar intensively deals with the practical application of literary theory and methods as discussed in the lectures.
Introduction by the lecturer, students’ presentations or position papers, textual analysis
- Introductory presentation or short essay (approx. three pages)
- Term paper
- Participation in analyzing and discussing texts
