summer semester 2015 | Last update: 01.12.2014 | Place course on memo listDealing with historical sources and research literature; application of methods from auxiliary sciences of history; oral and written presentation; critical discussion
France and England have not only for a long time been historical rivals. In the older literature, they were also often reputed to represent different models of order and development from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. In the seminar, we will test the validity of such interpretations in the light of more recent research. At the same time, we will exercise basic historical methods and forms of presentations with reference to selected examples.
Reading and discussion of sources and secondary literature; thematic presentations; group work
Regular and active participation; oral presentation; written final paper
Will be announced at the beginning of the course
BA (603) = positive assessment of the compulsory module 1, C312 and C313 = positive assessment "Introduction to the Study of History"
Online registration necessary! Acceptance of registration for the seminar can be cancelled, if a student fails to participate in the first session without having informed (via email) the instructor about the valid reason. Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
