In this Introductory Seminar students will delve into the basics of scientific working and will compile different questions under inclusion of specialist literature in presentations, discussions and papers.

Topic of this introductory seminar is emperor Charles V and his time. The  talks will deal with the person of Charles V, his exercise of rule,  the political and religious situation in his territories, his dominions, with the dynasty of the Habsburgs, as well as with the perception and representation of Charles V as emperor and king of Spain.

Teaching and development of knowlegde both by an interactive learning process (short presentations, discussions, papers, exercises) and by frontal teaching with new media (e-learning).

Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, regular and active participation in discussions, oral presentation and handout, written paper.

A bibliography list will be handed out at the first lecture and you will find it as well online. 

BA (603) = positive assessment of the compulsory module 1, C312 and C313 = positive assessment "Introduction to the Study of History"

Absence without valid excuse (via email) on the first session cause the losing of the access to seminar. Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
