Students understand the relationships between abiotic and biotic factors within the soil and are able to apply statistical methods to the data obtained during the tutorial and to interpret them correctly.

Theoretical background of soil science, soil chemistry and soil microbiology are discussed. In the second part of the seminar the own results obtained during the tutorial are statistically analyzed, the validity of the parameters are discussed and the results are imbedded into the context of soil microbiology.
