Learning Outcome:

The students should gain an understanding of the dependency of different research methods in psychology on certain epistemological paradigms. They should get an awareness of the possibilities and limitations of those research paradigms.

Contents:

In this lecture different research paradigms of psychology are discussed in their historical overview, but also in their systematic context. Epistemological conditions for the genesis of scientific theories and their verification will be discussed in detail.
