Students possess well-founded knowledge of the basic and current theoretical concepts of promoting health and wellbeing at work. The participants are able to evaluate concepts and methods of human-centered work and organizational redesign for dealing with problems with job-demands. They are capable to develop adequate proposals to improve working conditions and organizations.

This lecture’s aim is to analyse and evaluate essential concepts, projects and methods of the Occupational Health Psychology. The contribution of psychosocial work-characteristics (decision latitude, job-demands, social relationships and social support at work, effort–reward imbalance etc.) on health, wellbeing and job-performance, as well as their impact, are dicussed. The focus lies on findings in cross-sectional and longitudinal studies  to health-related quality of life.

Behaviour- and condition-oriented concepts for the introduction of workplace health promotion programs are being discussed as well.
