Advanced knowledge of theoretical philosophy, especially metaphysics.

Contents:

In this seminar we discuss questions concerning the metaphysics of properties: What are properties? In which sense do properties exist? We read and discuss important texts on metyphysics of properties from the 19th and 20th century, for example, by Gottlob Frege, Bertrand Russell, Willard van Orman Quine, David M. Armstrong and David Lewis.

Methods:

Reading texts, student presentations, discussion.

Assessment:

Active participation, student presentation, written seminar paper.
