Knowledge of the discussion about a Christian concept of sacrifice in contemporary theology; criteriology for assessing the validity of such a concept.
During the recent decades, a discussion believed finished hitherto heated up again: Is there a genuine Christian concept of sacrifice? And if so, how is it to be construed, how does ist differ from other conceptions? R. Girard and R. Schwager were significantly involved in this discussion with their own dialogue on the topic. Mathias Moosbrugger has reconstructed this discussion in his book. Their construal of a Christian concept of sacrifice and the discussion with adherents and critics will be the main focus of the seminar.
