222180 VU Plurality of Religions
winter semester 2015/2016 | Last update: 16.02.2016 | Place course on memo listThe students are capable of understanding the integrative connection between the single theological areas, and of arguing objectively for their choice of studies. They know about the development and composition of a scientific assignment. They dispose of the most important formal skills to compose a scientific assignment.
They are capable of an independent evaluation of religious phenomena even outside the Abrahamic religions, especially those of religious change.
Through a perception of the phenomen "religion" in its plurality today, the different perspectives and experiential contexts shall be considered, especially in regard of the transformation of every religious reality in the present.
The first part will focus on Religious Studies 8phenomenological and functional). Specific religious traditions will be presented historically and systematically.
The second part will focus on the perspective of the Catholic Church since "Nostra aetate". Spirituality ajd "quasi-religious" phenomena will be discussed both within a functkonal theory of religions and independently.
