They know how to put research questions and to constitute their individual choice of method. Students are able to use specific political science-related methods and methods which are relevant for their own research project.
An intensive course that covers major topics in research design. While compatible with, and necessary precursor knowledge for, statistical analysis, this is not a statistics course and no statistical methods will be covered in detail. Topics will include causality, experiments, case selection, and various forms of biases.
The course focuses on research design, not methods.
