Conceptual understanding of contemporary forms of governance in organizations as well as their ethical and political implications.

The focus of the seminar will be on selected aspects of contemporary governance of organizations. Conceptually we will mainly draw on the notion of 'governmentality' to critically discuss and problematize modes of governing organizations and individual conduct in the context of neoliberal discourses. How does (neoliberal) governmentality work? What are the power-effects of various technologies of governing? How is competion and the competive subject(ivity) produced? What are the ethical implications of these modes of governing organizational life?
