The objective of this course is to teach students the basics of fundamental company credit analysis and credit decisions as well as the practical application on the basis of case studies.

We discuss different fundamental approaches of qualitative and quantitative credit analysis of business and financial risk profile of corporates. Here, the approach of rating agencies, credit research analysts (buy side, sell side) and various credit departments in banks is presented. The presented concepts will then be implemented on the basis of company case studies from different industrial sectors. We will show in particular, how, in practice, corporates are analysed and credit decisions are made.
