Goal of the lecture is to convey a sound understanding of current issues in Finance as well as practical issues concerning the financing of small and medium enterprises in light of the background of the financial crisis.

In this seminar several current topics in finance are discusses and analyzed, e.g. the european stress tests for banks and the consequences of Basel III and Solvency II. Another main point are the financing of small and medium enterprises in light of heavier regulation. The issue of private equity will also be covered.
