In this course students will improve their understanding and knowledge of French literature and the history of the French language.

We will focus on French literature, language history and language policies in France.

Lecture; eventually reading tasks

Oral exam

You will receive all information about relevant literature as well as worksheets, source texts, etc. (files, copies or master copies - any copy costs will be collected at the end of the semester) in class.

In order to attend this course, students need to have passed the compulsory module 3. Please bring along a written confirmation in our first lesson.

Course language: French, especially concerning literature and different sources. (Furthermore) Use of German, especially when dealing with older texts, difficult contents and so on (efficiency!), also during the lecture.
