The Specialised translation: literature I, Spanish-German (UE) course will provide both theoretical and practical introductions to the translation of literary texts.

Problems in literary translation such as culture-specifics, metaphors, and puns will be dealt with through short stories by the Mexican author Álvaro Uribe.

The course will involve working both individually and in groups, and the presentation of results.

There will be a continuous evaluation through homework assignments and active participation in class.

Reference lists and source texts will be distributed either in digital format or in hard copy.

Students wishing to participate in the course must hold a bachelor's degree.

Electronic registration via the online study programme is compulsory for participation in the course.
