Expanded knowledge and independent application of art-historical methods on examples referred to in the lecture

From the camera obscura to photography, film, video, media performance and computer art, to satellite-aided transmission, the course will give an overview of how new elements are added to the traditional art forms, of how they are questioned or even altered. Naturally, the main masters – from all over the world – are at the focus of attention. The cross-cultural and not only cross-technical approach mirrors the increasingly complex reality up to the daily news transmission.
