The aim is to provide extensive knowledge and a deeper understanding of the topic.
At the beginning of the concept “Renaissance”, there was the myth of the “breakthrough to modernity”. The mere dating and the geographical placing of “Renaissance” have remained problems of historiography. – 1430 to 1560? What are the relations between style, taste and social rank and who distinguished themselves as a spokesperson for the new? Observing select works of art, we will discuss questions of this kind.
