In-depth understanding of questions related to culture of memory and politics of history with special consideration of public space, understanding of the actual design and concept of museums and memorials.

Visit of the new NS-documentation center, the former concentration camp and memorial of Dachau and of the Jewish Museum in Munich as well as other memorials and historical places in the city.

Oral presentation with paper, discussions on-site.

Permanent participation, oral presentation with paper.

Field trip 11 to 14, January 2016 ; 4 days/3 nights, limited number of participants: 30 persons (waiting list possible). Registration via VIS-online including bank transfer. Forms for giro transfer are available at the Office of the Contemporary History Department till Oct 30, 2015. Total costs: EUR 180,- per person, tickets and guided tours included. Individual arrival and departure at the destination.
