School development can be regarded from the micro-, meso and makro level. At the end of this course the students will achieve profound knowledge of the topic school development in all its dimensions. The main scope is on horizontal school development and school development in specific regions.

During this course the students develop knowledge in organising and executing praxis oriented projects linked with regional school development using the example of a model case in Tyrol. 

The used model case is the education project “Modellregion Bildung Zillertal”, which was initiated by the Land Tirol in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck. This specific project focuses on opportunities and success factors concerning one common school.

The conducted project in this course aims for compiling regional development portraits.

 

 

The main focus of this course is the introduction to project management and working with current research results concerning school development. Furthermore the research tool “Entwicklungsporträt” is introduced and implemented. The expectation on the students is to gather project relevant data in the specific model region. Here for it is necessary to visit the locations several times. More details will be shared in the preliminary talk.

Next to the introduction and discussion of various basics the main focus of this course is the praxis project itself. The execution of this project is done during school visits in the model region and is always supported by the course leaders. A prerequisite for attending this course is high engagement and motivation. The participants will get the chance to receive insight in a current research project and the possibility to achieve work relevant experience within the new middle school.
