winter semester 2015/2016 | Last update: 02.05.2016 | Place course on memo listThe purpose of the lecture is to present the key concepts of the relationship between literature and other forms of cultural articulation. In particular, the lecture will discuss the most relevant aspects of the spatial theory and globalization research and offer insight in the decisive questions and problems of the cultural studies.
This lecture is conceived as an introduction in the cultural studies oriented approach to space. On the one hand, the course will impart knowledge to enable the students of literature to orient themselves in the so called “Spatial Turn”. The lecture will address, among others, the relationship between literature and navigation, the interaction between literature and globalization and elements of geopoetics. On the other hand, the course will show some cultural studies oriented analyses of literary texts from the Renaissance to the present.
Lectures, short presentations, group work, discussion.
Active participation, group work, short presentation, written exam.
Will be assigned at the beginning of the term.
