winter semester 2015/2016 | Last update: 10.09.2015 | Place course on memo listBy the end of the course, the participants should know the basics of methodology and didactics of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) based on current scientific literature. Furthermore, they will gain experience regarding the problems when applying the theoretical principles in practice at schools.
The course offers the possibility of getting to know the fundamentals of methodology and didactics of Content and Language Integrated Learning with the following aspects being of specific interest:
Instructivism versus Constructivism, Change of perspective, Intercultural learning, Reading and writing techniques, Language support, Learning styles, Social settings of learning and teaching strategies, Problems of assessment procedures
Further activities:
Creation of lesson plans and their application
Observing CLIL lessons taught by experienced teachers at schools in Innsbruck
Analysis of observations in plenary
Relevant inputs are discussed in group. Some crucial elements of CLIL are presented by the participants and afterwards talked over in plenary.
The theoretical knowledge should be tried out in classes based in lesson plans created by the participants.
