Palaeo-ecology discloses the dimension of time, to evaluate the response of populations, communities and ecosystems to climatic and environmental changes, and to predict future global changes.

The course inducts students into concepts and methods of long-term vegetation and land use changes induced by global warming. Examples of different ecosystems are given since the late glacial and the last 10 000 years.

Lecture and laboratory course, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
