Students acquire basic knowledge of the environmental chemistry of the atmosphere. Students are familiar with important concepts and the applications in materials science of solid state chemistry.

The atmosphere of the earth, natural and anthropogenic greenhouse effect, formation and degradation of ozone in the stratosphere, ozone hole, ground-near ozone, DDT, aerosols, emmisions of combustion engines.
