Students are able to evaluate and critically question current political science debates by literature studies and discussions. They know how to critically assess and comment literature in terms of content and methodology.

The aim of this course is to engage with issues of knowledge production and its relation to power in a postcolonial world. We will address the challenges and complexities in conducting research when employing postcolonial feminist frameworks. Key concepts, namely representation, intersectionality (race, class, gender, sexuality, religion), and subalternity will be examined. We will also discuss the challenges of deploying these concepts in postcolonial fieldwork settings.
