Learning Outcome:

Students gain knowledge on the practical relevance and the application of theoretical approaches in different fields of rural and agrarian sociology.

Contents:

The seminar conveys practical approaches with respect to regional development processes (in northern and sounthern countries) including practical examples from scientific literature and of concrete research projects.

Methods:

Presentations, Movie samples, writing abstracts of compulsory literature, preparation and presentation of texts by the students, discussion, group work

Assessment:

Immanent examinations:

continual assessment, evaluation of written abstarcts, preparation and presentation of scientific literature texts, active participation in discussions and written take-home-test

Literature:

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

Prerequisites:

positive completion of the compulsory module according to § 5 Para 1 No 2.
