Students gain knowledge on the practical relevance and the application of theoretical approaches in different fields of rural and agrarian sociology.

The seminar conveys practical approaches with respect to regional development processes (in northern and sounthern countries) including practical examples from scientific literature and of concrete research projects. Part of the seminar will focus on problems arising from global food production.

Presentations, Movie samples, writing abstracts of compulsory literature, preparation and presentation of texts by the students, discussion, group work

Immanent examinations:

continual assessment, evaluation of written abstarcts, preparation and presentation of scientific literature texts, active participation in discussions and written take-home-test

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

positive completion of the compulsory module according to § 5 Para 1 No 2.
