Students are able to describe fundamental topics, methods and applications of German linguistics.

We engage in selected questions, problems and methods of German linguistics, for example:

  • What is language? What are the boundaries of the German language?
  • What is the relationship between language and thinking, language and culture?
  • How do children acquire language?
  • How do linguists establish their questions and results?

Lectures, exercises.

Written examination.
