summer semester 2016 | Last update: 21.04.2016 | Place course on memo listThe students are instructed to read, interpret and categorize various texts of Italian literature and to effect their own scientific analysis. The course is conceived as a preparation on literary proseminars and other courses of advanced literary studies.
The course includes the following contents:
- introduction to close reading of literary texts
- terminology and methodology of narrative, dramatic and lyrical text analyses
- text analysis and interpretation as a base discipline of literary studies
The described contents should be acquired by means of the students’ active participation, and each of them is to be practiced by concrete activities: a “lecture sheet”, an oral presentation and a paper.
The activities mentioned below „methods“ which are to be accomplished by the students, form as well the basis for grading.

Sufficient linguistic proficiency for the reading of literary texts. Completed level II of language courses is recommended. For BA: completed modules 3, 7, 8.
Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
