Laying linguistic foundations for translation and interpreting competence

This course of lectures is an introduction to the linguistic foundations of translation and interpreting dealing with translatologically relevant parts of linguistic theories and linguistic disciplines, such as contrastive linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, language variation, text and discourse linguistics etc. with special focus on questions of translation and interpreting

Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
