summer semester 2016 | Last update: 11.02.2016 | Place course on memo listThis course will equip students with the relevant skills to act as professional liaison interpreters in a range of different communicative contexts.
Students will develop strategies for linguistic and cultural mediation in spoken contexts. Preparatory background reading and terminological research will enable participants to take on the role of liaison interpreters between German and English in various communication scenarios.
Preparatory background reading and terminological research; topic-related vocabulary acquisition; role play and simulation of interpreting situations.
Continuous assessment of interpreting performance; oral contributions (participation in role play and mini presentations); written vocabulary tests.
