summer semester 2016 | Last update: 08.02.2016 | Place course on memo listIn this course we will deal with different literary genres and continue the translation project Kibidoué (working title: Le chant de Kanou - Gesang der Liebe). Kibidoué Eric Bayala comes from Burkina Faso, speaks French and lives in the Tyrol. He is author, poet, songwriter, singer, film producer and director... Beyond his artistic activities he is also director of the non-profit association Sahel Tirol that realises projects in and with different African countries. texts of and about Bayala.
Poems, political songs, a fairy tale, a novel, paratexts for the publication... Students will work with very different texts in order to get a real practical experience. Our objective is the official presentation of your work (bi-lingual publication). Furthermore, we will deal with example texts belonging to different literary genres and with texts dealing with literature (critics, paratexts).
Students will have to prepare translation assignments individually and within the specified time. These assignments will serve as a basis for interactive lessons (discussions! questions! active participation! ideas!).

Students will receive all information about relevant literature as well as worksheets, source texts, etc. (files, copies or master copies - any copy costs will be collected at the end of the semester) in class.
In order to attend this course, students need to have passed the complete 2nd diploma examination (“2. Diplomprüfung”) in your 1st and your 2nd foreign language (translating to and from the target languages) or have completed your bachelor's degree in translation studies. Please don't forget to bring along an adequate confirmation in our first lesson.
Attendance of the first lesson is a pre-requisite.
